- Boston, this year you can make your Memorial Day truly memorable. Have a BBQ and then get your booty safely to Allston and begin shaking it. The combined forces of New Orleans Bounce legend Big Freedia, pop alchemists Javelin (featuring former What Cheer? drummer George) and What Cheer? are going to pummel you into the funnest frenzy you can imagine. The rumor is that hordes of Providentians and Worcesterites willl be descending upon Boston for this show; the result can only be a dance off deciding the ultimate fate of all New England.

What Cheer? Six Year?

- Our sixth birthday party is going to be the sixthliest yet! Starting with some amazing accompanying acts: Math the Band is the terrifyingly high-energy synth-pop-punk duo that will capture your heart; Dzian ( Charlottesville, VA) plays vintage Taiwanese pop, and The Dungeoneers are aggressively positive, vaguely medieval punks from Worcester (including members of Bonezone and the Terribles).

The night before, Friday, September 9, some of us will be giving an artist talk about Providence, brass band traditions, contemporary street band culture, pop, punk and so much more. If you’re in Northern New England and have an interest in hearing our take on such matters, this is your chance! If you don’t have such an interest, we fully understand. But we’ll expect to see you on the dance floor.
